insideHPC has link that talk about lustre future
Since Oracle existing HPC market and lustre doesnot seems to fit in the Oracle Grand strategy, so it is not surprise about the news.
It is very surprise that it take Oracle this long to shop around lustre.
Lustre is a problem child since acquired by Sun:
- Lustre always relied on the OEM partner for implementation so lustre team does have deep knowledge in development and support, but not enough expert knowledge in implementation
- Sun Service refuse to provide 24×7 support due to the heavy investment requirement and not enough return
- Peter Braam left Sun and founded ClusterStor, (recently acquired by Xyratex) is very strange act.
